Kate Middleton married with Prince Williams on Friday 29 April 2011 at Westminster Abbey (Anon, 2011). Millions people had watched this royal wedding through the television and internet. However, it is huge waste to the people who pay for the tax. For example, The Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding dress, designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen which is world famous luxury. Therefore, the royal wedding influences the view of monarchy. A number of public consider the monarchy.

The British people cannot afford the fairy tale affair, not at a time when Britain is facing  billions deficit. It’s such a slap in the face to the ordinary people who are being asked to make sacrifices while the royals party it up, as they’ve done throughout history and always at the expense of the poor and working-class.

Instead of being mesmerized by it all, people everywhere should be repulsed at the outrageously expensive affair, especially when so many people are suffering from homelessness, hunger and lack of jobs and healthcare, not only in Britain but throughout the world.

Overall speaking, the government of Britain should pay more attention to the public issues. Cut in spending of monarchy could be an effective method improving economy.

However, a number of local people in the UK have no chance to go to the London watch the 2012 Olympics. Numerous reasons for that situation have been made. First and foremost, the reason of the high-price tickets could result in that the poor British cannot afford tickets to watch games.  Furthermore, there are millions sport fans in Britain. Most of them cannot have tickets to watch the game due to the capacity of Olympic Stadium is 80000 (Mcevoy, 2011). Besides, sport fans from the whole world will also join 2012 Olympic Games. The government of Britain would give the opportunity for the oversea sport fans to show the sporting attitude of Britain. Finally, the public can also watch the broadcast of the 2012 Olympic Games at home, which indirectly support the hosting of the Olympic Games. In brief, many British sports fans have been unable to get tickets. But the government would make many chances for them to enjoy the games as possible.
